What are 1-2-1 meeting notes?
Whether you're working with asynchronous meetings or a more traditional setup, 1-2-1 meeting notes support you before, during, and after those recurring one-on-ones so you get the most out of your time and leave with clarity on the tasks ahead. You can also use them to record individual progress with each meeting.
Why does your company need a 1-2-1 meeting notes page?
What were the results of that change you made? Did any action get taken on last week's suggestions? Looking back helps us see what was done and if it ‘moved the needle’ on goals.
One-on-one meetings are great chances for casual chit-chat, but it’s easy to forget particular subjects you want to address. Whether it’s a helpful tip or some good news, 1-2-1 meeting notes can be used to log reminders of talking points, leading to more satisfying catch-ups.
1-2-1 meeting notes give direction on what’s ahead, leading to better time management and satisfaction for attendees.

What elements should 1-2-1 meeting notes include?
Accomplishments
After a short introduction to the page, clarifying the date or the week/month in discussion and the person the meeting is for, provide a space to record any accomplishments from that period.
Our template uses Advanced Cards to make the date and attendee stand out, partly to avoid any possible mix-up with notes from other one-on-one meetings, and also to make the page more personal, especially with the inclusion of a profile picture.
Current priorities
Next, you should record the priorities set during the meeting for the next period of time, whether it’s for a particular sprint or just until the next one-on-one.
Challenges, roadblocks, and lessons learned
Lastly, remember to include anything that held back progress in the week or month discussed and anything that can be learned from for a more productive future. One-on-one meetings are a great opportunity for non-judgmental reflection.
