Rovo introduces exciting new ways to create, automate, and collaborate across Atlassian apps. If you don't know what Rovo is or how to use it (yet), we've got you! Let's explore Rovo's features - we even answer any burning questions you might have.
What is Rovo?
Rovo is Atlassian's powerful, AI-powered suite, built on Atlassian Intelligence. Rovo is integrated across all Cloud apps, meaning you can work smarter across Jira, Confluence, Trello, Bitbucket, and more.
With Rovo, you can save time across departments, make information more accessible to teams, and reduce the cognitive load by decreasing tab hopping and context switching.

What can you use Rovo for?
Rovo is useful for reducing repetitive, dull tasks, helping you out of writer's block, and much more. Here are a few things that Rovo can do:
- Natural language search: Ever tried to find a page but can't quite remember the specific name? Type in what you're looking for in your own words, and Rovo will help you search.
- Summarise tickets and pages: If you want an overview of last week's blockers or the most recent changes to a page, Rovo can quickly generate a summary for you.
- Automate task creation: With Rovo Studio, setting up automated, recurring tasks is quicker and easier than ever. Just tell Rovo what you want to automate, and it will build the rule for you.
- Create content quicker: From summarising your weekly tasks to creating an internal memo in your brand tone of voice, Rovo can help you with a range of content creation activities.
Who can access Atlassian Rovo?
All Premium and Enterprise customers can now access Rovo - you just need a site admin (likely your head of IT) to enable its AI features.
If you're on a Standard plan, don't worry! Rovo will be rolled out to you later in the year.
📝 Note: Only customers on the new billing experience are able to enjoy the benefits of Rovo.
What's included with Rovo?
Rovo Chat
Rovo Chat adds an intelligent chat agent to your Confluence instance. If you're used to working with ChatGPT or another GenAI chatbot, you'll be familiar with how to use Rovo Chat - you ask it questions to get the information you need.

Because Rovo is integrated across your Atlassian site, it can pull in information from any of your Atlassian apps, no matter where you are. For example, if you're working in Confluence, you can ask it to summarise last week's Jira tickets that were assigned to you, and you don't even need to leave your page.
How to use Rovo Chat
To get started, click the Chat icon in the top-right corner. Then, use one of the prompts provided or type your own question.

Rovo Agents
Rovo Agents are specialised AI teammates that you can use to help you out with more specific roles, such as social media marketing, translation, and OKR generation. Simply find your desired Agent, give them it brief, and it'll rapidly deliver. You can even respond to tweak your brief if something's not quite hitting the mark.

Rovo Search
Rovo Search makes the Atlassian search bar even more intelligent and useful. You can ask it questions, like Rovo Chat, but when you hit enter, you'll also have a list of results below your AI-powered answer for additional reading.

Rovo Studio
Rovo Studio is a new central platform that lets you automate, build with AI, and more - all from your Atlassian instance. If you've ever wanted to reduce repetitive tasks or create content at scale, it’s the ideal place to start.

Rovo Studio currently houses a collection of four powerful tools:
- Agents: Build tailored AI models designed to perform specific tasks, like writing social media posts in your brand's tone of voice.
- Assets: A central area to catalogue and manage all your organisation's assets and configuration items in Jira Service Management.
- Automation: Create tasks that automatically run based on specific triggers. You don't even need to set up the logic yourself, just tell Rovo what you want to happen and when.
- Hubs: Generate dynamic, engaging Company Hubs and customer help centres in Confluence at the click of a button.
How can I tell if I already have Rovo?
If you already have Atlassian Rovo, you'll be able to see the Rovo Chat icon in the top-right corner of your page.

I don't have Rovo - how do I get it?
If you're a Premium or Enterprise customer on the new billing plan, you should already have Rovo. If you think you should have Rovo but you don't, contact Atlassian support for more information and assistance.
FAQs
Does Rovo require any coding knowledge?
No! Rovo is designed to boost your productivity, regardless of your coding ability. And Rovo Studio is coding-optional, meaning you can choose to code if you'd like.
Can I connect third-party apps to Rovo?
Yes, there are many external apps that you can integrate with Rovo, including Google Drive, Slack, Notion, and more.
How does Rovo differ from Atlassian Intelligence?
Atlassian Intelligence is the AI platform that runs across Atlassian products, while Rovo is a suite of powerful tools aimed at reducing context switching and eliminating repetitive tasks. All of Rovo's tools use Atlassian Intelligence by default, but to varying degrees. Tools like Chat rely on AI to function, while tools like Search can still be used even if AI is toggled off in your Atlassian environment.
Do I have to activate Rovo to make use of it?
No. Rovo is being automatically added to eligible instances, so you don't need to worry about turning anything on.
Can I turn off Rovo?
No, because Rovo is an integral part of Atlassian's updated platform. However, a site admin can deactivate AI. You won't be able to interact with Rovo Chat or Agents, but non-AI aspects of Search and Studio will still be available to use.
Can I use Rovo if I have Data Center or Server?
Unfortunately, no. Rovo is a feature exclusive to Atlassian Cloud apps.
