Confluence space shortcuts are a simple but powerful way to keep essential pages and resources right where you need them.

What are space shortcuts?

Space shortcuts are links that let users quickly access relevant Confluence pages and web pages. Because they are specific to each space, you can tailor them to fit the unique needs of every project or team.

What can Confluence space shortcuts link to?
  • Other Confluence spaces
  • Confluence pages (including personal spaces)
  • External webpages and resources
  • Jira projects or boards

Why use space shortcuts?

As a Confluence space grows, the page trees can become complicated and messy, making it difficult to find what you need. Space shortcuts help you cut through the noise and improve efficiency by:
  • Saving time and reducing frustration: Give everyone on your team one-click access to the pages they use most often without needing to dig through the page tree.
  • Keeping important resources handy: Link to external websites or resources so all your essential information is in one place.
  • Decluttering your sidebar: Keep the sidebar clean and focused on what’s important.

How to add Confluence space shortcuts

1. Go to the space where you’d like to add a shortcut.

2. In the left-hand menu, click the + (add shortcut) button next to Shortcuts

How to edit or remove Confluence space shortcuts

You might want to change the display text for one of your shortcuts to make it easier for you to understand what it’s linking to or to differentiate it from similarly named shortcuts. To do this, you can edit your space shortcuts.
  1. Hover over the shortcut you want to change and click the More actions (three dots) button.
  2. Select Edit to change the name or link. You can also select Remove to delete the shortcut.

How to reorder space shortcuts

To keep your sidebar organised, you can easily change the order of your shortcuts to prioritise the most important links. Simply click and hold the shortcut you want to move, drag it to its new position in the list, and release.
