What is an onboarding page?

An onboarding page directs new hires to find the most important information and documents about your business. It typically includes a comprehensive checklist of tasks.
From an organisational chart to company news and essential documentation on policies and processes, it has everything to help get employees working efficiently.

Why does your company need an onboarding page?

Improve onboarding speed

It can take 3 months or more to onboard employees. There’s a lot of information for a new hire to take in, and that’s before we even account for institutional memory! An Onboarding age is a resource they can turn to any time during their first year to ensure they have all they need to thrive.

A constant source of fresh information

It’s been suggested that a new employee can take 1-2 years to become fully productive. An onboarding page can be constantly updated with fresh insights from other new hires, building a really useful guide for everyone.

Enhance engagement

A dry manual for a new employee doesn’t convey that you are a forward-thinking, dynamic, or exciting business! In contrast, an onboarding page can be customised to your brand.

We love the Modern and Serenity templates; beautiful examples that look and feel a million miles away from a plain document new starters will begrudge reading.

What elements should an onboarding page include?

On-brand styling

Choosing the right template ensures that your onboarding page aligns with your brand’s visual identity. Consider the Modern onboarding page template with its bright and attention-grabbing colours, or the Serenity onboarding page template with its calming aesthetic.

Checklists

A well-structured landing page outlining the onboarding process's introduction, instructions, and contents. Why not consider:
  • Security Checklist: Ensure all security measures are understood and followed.
  • Education Checklist: Employees can review essential learning materials and policies.
  • Access Checklist: Verify that all access permissions are granted and understood.

Goals

  • New team members should have an area of goals and objectives that align the brown KPIs with the company's objectives
