There are plenty of reasons to connect your Confluence pages. Discover why to link them, and how to do it, with our handy guide.

Are users struggling to find your Confluence pages? You’re probably not linking to them!

Linking your pages together doesn’t just improve navigation and efficiency. It also helps everyone access the same set of information, which is essential for creating a Single Source of Truth.

Read on to learn how (and why) to link your Confluence pages together.

How to link Confluence pages with hyperlinks

This is the simplest way to link to Confluence pages. You can simply paste a URL on your page, but we recommend adding Confluence anchor text.

Anchor text shows instead of a long URL, making it easier for users to know what the link is. Here's how:

1. Go to your Confluence page of choice and press the Edit (pencil) icon.

2. Click the Link button in the page toolbar, or type Ctrl+K.

3. Add your display (anchor) text, then search for a Confluence page and click to select a page in the dropdown.

💡 Did you know? Once you’ve added your link, you can display it as a card or even embed it on your original Confluence page. Just click your link and press one of the icons on the left to change how your link displays.
